Essay on a Farmer in English
Farmers are the backbone of society in the current socio-economic structure. Almost all the food items we take are produced by farmers. Hence, the entire population of the country is dependent on farmers. Farmers are the backbone of all nations worldwide, regardless of their location. The economy can flourish due to the tireless hard work of farmers. They are the most important people on the planet. However, despite the rigorous activities for our welfare, farmers in most countries do not have a proper living for themselves.
Farmers are the backbone of every country
Farmers are the most important and valuable people in the world. A farmer is a person whose profession is farming. They cultivate and raise organisms for food and raw resources by working as an agricultural laborer on their own land or on other people's land.
As individuals, we can see that in the current socio-economic sector, farmers are the most important group for the advancement of the country. Their direct or indirect participation in society has a major impact on development. Farmers work in the agricultural industry. A large part of the country's economy also depends on farmers.
Farmers make up more than half of the global population, and most of them live in developing countries. Farmers have to put in a lot of dedication and patience in their work. They have to wait for many days, months, and maybe even years to harvest the crop. Farmers use a variety of equipment to grow crops at different stages, which includes tractors, water pumping equipment, fertilizer spraying equipment, etc. They work incredibly effectively with the help of this equipment.
Different Types of Farmers
Depending on the nature of farming, we have many types of farmers. For example, some farmers specialize in animal husbandry, dairy farming, horticulture, crop farming, and many other types of farming. Their efforts are important for the development of the country. Therefore, being responsible citizens, we must respect their labor and commitment to maintain the lifestyle of the nation and our society.
Rare Condition of Farmers in India
Farmers in India do not get the status they deserve and so every week or month we hear many cases of suicide by farmers. They live a very tough and difficult life and yet they do not get the facilities they really deserve. Usually, the middlemen engaged in the trade of vegetables and fruits get most of the money and the farmers are deprived of their basic rights.
Recently, many farmers are committing suicide because they do not have enough money to fulfill the basic needs of life, and so they resort to doing such heinous acts. Many times, their crops are destroyed due to the effects of global warming, and they do not get any kind of reimbursement from the government. This ultimately puts them in poverty and a lack of resources, and their life become miserable.
The economy of our country is based on farmers
Farmers are the strength and backbone of the economy of any country. The food we eat and the food that keeps us healthy and strong is provided by farmers. We are able to survive on this planet with the help of farmers and thus they are the most valuable and important people in our lives. According to statistics, the contribution of farmers in the economy of India is about 17%. Farmers have a great importance in the society, but despite being so useful, they do not have a proper means of living.
Importance of Farmers
Farmers are very important in India. Before the 1970s, India used to import food grains from other countries for its food and could not even grow the required amount of food grains. But when the pressure on importing food grains from foreign countries increased, the then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri inspired the farmers and gave the slogan 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan', which is remembered even today. After this, the Green Revolution started in the country and India achieved self-sufficiency in food grain production. Now, after fulfilling our needs, we also export food grains. Farmers are self-sufficient in their work and their entire life depends on farming.
